Lamin Keita's Hope is a Nonprofit organization which has two separate missions based on our chapter locations, here in North Carolina USA and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Lamin Keita's Hope in the USA
In the US we have created programs specifically catered to increasing peer support among parents of children with spina bifida and reduce their financial responsibility.
In the Gambia and Sub-Saharan Africa
Our mission in the Gambian and Sub-Saharan Africa is to save the lives of babies through providing life-changing surgeries and medication. Our support programs provide supplies for surgery, CT scans, medicines, wound-care supplies, shunts, etc.
Overall our mission in both chapters is to provide the 5 pillars to improve the lives of children living with Spina Bifida and support their families!

Occurs within the first 28 days of pregnancy, before a woman knows pregnant.
Cannot be prevented but the risk only can be reduced.
Folic acid and healthy diet help in reducing the risk of Spina Bifida.
